Even the finest swaddlers are no match for Jack Babb's baby strength. He started small -- sneaking a single hand out of the top of the straight jacket; he soon graduated to getting a whole arm free; and eventually, he freed both arms. Now, he completely blows out of the bottom of the things, as shown in this picture. Wrapping him up is just about the only thing that ensures larger blocks of sleep time (for all of us) because his sleepy wiggles regularly jar him awake when he's not tightly bound.
We already are getting a limited amount of sleep, and this latest development will only make things worse. Be on the lookout for grouchy parents!
You'll be yawning for a long time!
ReplyDeleteUsually I try to post irreverent comments in here, but I'll be helpful this one time. We kept James in the swaddler till 5 months because he slept so much better (but by 5 months he was busting out of them like the hulk). If you want me to reinforce yours with extra Velcro, I will. Bet we could get the whole operation turned around in a week. It helped keep James longer in his, for sure.
